Our Opera House Choir has been rehearsing to take part in the Festival of Choral Music 2024, to be held at the Sydney Opera House. This is a Public Schools initiative and involves around 28,000 lucky children from around NSW. There are four concerts in the festival, and we will perform in the Barangaroo Concert on Wednesday August 15th, in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. The excursion has the support of our principal and will be an amazing experience to savour for life. We will travel to Sydney as a group and will be staying at the Ibis Budget Sydney East in Darlinghurst. Activities have been organised during our stay in Sydney – please see pricing information for more details. Parents are welcome to attend the concert on Wednesday 14th August at 6:30pm. To confirm your child’s attendance on this excursion, please pay a non-refundable deposit of $50 and return the permission note on the attached page. You will also need to return the permission note and payment for a local school’s cluster rehearsal at Boambee Public School on Tuesday 11th June. Please see the next page for information about the cluster rehearsal. The estimated cost of the Opera House excursion is $338 per student. Year 4 Yarra Adventure Park Camp

This year, all Year 4 students will attend an excursion to Yarra Adventure Park at Grassy Head from Tuesday 10th September, to Thursday 12th September 2024 (Week 8 Term 3). They will be participating in a 3-day Outdoor Adventure Education program. The excursion involves staying for two nights at the park and participating in a variety of adventure activities that provide a fun and challenging experience for students. It provides the opportunity for them to learn new skills, foster collaboration and build trust with their peers. The estimated cost of this excursion is $358.00, although this initial cost may change once numbers have been confirmed. This price covers transport to and from the venue, instructors, accommodation, and all food, apart from morning tea on Tuesday. An information session for families will be held in Term 3. If you wish your child to attend, please complete the expression of interest and return it with a $50 non-refundable deposit by Thursday 11th April 2024. The final payment is due Friday 9th August 2024. See attached note for further details.

Year 6 Canberra Excursion

Planning for the Year 6 major excursion to Canberra in Term 4 Week 7 (November 25th-29th) is well underway. This year the estimated cost of the excursion will be $613. This will vary according to the number of students attending. Families are welcome to apply for student assistance to meet a proportion of the costs. Please contact the school office for more information. The school applies for the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER). The rebate of $45 has been applied to the cost estimate. Bookings for accommodation have already been made so you are asked to reserve a place for your child by filling in and returning the Expression of Interest note below by Friday 31st May. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required. Unfortunately, no expression of interest can be accepted without payment.
