Venue: Urunga Foreshore, Margo Street, Urunga. Opposite Ocean View Hotel. The start/finish point and space for students/schools to set up viewing areas will be at the clearing (eastern side of carpark) opposite the Ocean View Hotel. Course has been modified from last year with a new start and finish area. Date: Friday, 3rd May 2024 (first Friday back - Week 1, Term 2) Time: 10:00am - walking the course; 10:45am - First Race Travel: To and from the venue will be by private transport. This will need to be arranged by families. Uniform: Runners are to wear school sports uniform and appropriate running shoes. Students are to bring any personal equipment they require. Students require own adequate protection from the sun, including sun safe hat and sunscreen. NO SPIKED SHOES ARE ALLOWED. Canteen: No canteen will be available at the venue. Shops are very close by for parents in attendance. Students should ensure they have enough water and healthy snacks/food for the day. Parents are more than welcome to attend and support the students running on the day. Parking is available all around the foreshore area. Notes need to be returned to school by Tuesday 9th April 2024 (week 11)

Student Leaders are invited to participate in the Year 6 Student Leadership Day. The day will be held at the Coffs Coast Adventure Centre, Bonville. The focus for this will be team building and leadership. Students will choose one of two individual activities, either the “Skywire” or “Inner Limits,” as well as one of two team building activities, “Survivor” or “Team Rescue.” A separate form will be sent home to make these choices. Placement into the students’ preferred activity may depend on the number limits for each activity. Please see the attached note for complete details and a link to Coffs Coast Adventure Centre complete details.

This year, all Year 5 students will attend an excursion to The Great Aussie Bush Camp at Tea Gardens from Wednesday, 19th June, to Friday, 21st June 2024. They will be participating in a 3-day Outdoor Education program. A visit to the Great Aussie Bush Camp is an opportunity for students to learn new skills, develop closer relationships with peers, and be provided with new and exciting experiences that improve their resilience and self-esteem. Students will be participating in a variety of outdoor activities from the following categories: heights, aquatic, bush, and recreation. The estimated cost of this excursion is $390.00, although this initial cost may change once numbers have been confirmed. This price covers transport to and from the venue, instructors, accommodation, and all food, apart from lunch on Wednesday. If you wish your child to attend, please complete the expression of interest and return it with a $50 non-refundable deposit by Friday, 23rd February 2024. The final payment is due Friday, 31st May 2024. To assist families with the cost of the excursion, an application for school assistance can be made via an appointment with the Principal. Please contact the office to arrange. Periodic payments can be made throughout the year to assist families with budgeting.

This year, all Year 4 students will attend an excursion to Yarra Adventure Park at Grassy Head from Tuesday 10th September, to Thursday 12th September 2024 (Week 8 Term 3). They will be participating in a 3-day Outdoor Adventure Education program. The excursion involves staying for two nights at the park and participating in a variety of adventure activities that provide a fun and challenging experience for students. It provides the opportunity for them to learn new skills, foster collaboration and build trust with their peers. The estimated cost of this excursion is $358.00, although this initial cost may change once numbers have been confirmed. This price covers transport to and from the venue, instructors, accommodation, and all food, apart from morning tea on Tuesday. An information session for families will be held in Term 3. If you wish your child to attend, please complete the expression of interest and return it with a $50 non-refundable deposit by Thursday 11th April 2024. The final payment is due Friday 9th August 2024. See attached note for further details.
