Congratulations Jonty & Andre
Two talented AFL players from Bellingen Primary School braved rain, wind but also fine conditions to help take their North Coast team (coveringTweed to Port Macquarie) to their best result ever, playing against thebest junior players in NSW.
Jonty Neaves and Andre Pocilujko were selected for the PSSA North Coast AFLteam to compete at the Australian Football Carnival, held at Blacktown Olympic Park, Sydney, over three days last week. Winning four of the five games, the North
Coast team jumped from their 10th position in 2009 to 5th.
Both boys played fantastic games. Andre was versatile, playing effectively in allparts of the field. He took some great marks and scored a goal from a contestedmark. Jonty played centre half forward and full forward, playing so well he was voted
third best player for North Coast. He was captain in the third game and kicked 7 goals in total, including the winning goal of the last game with a heart-stopping 15 seconds to go (they won by a point). Jonty's effort and skills have been rewarded with selection into the NSW AFL State Development Squad.
